I've never been a huge fan of blonde woods in my own home, but have always admired the pieces. I love the Crate and Barrel Big Sur table, for example. This dresser was just so beautiful once stripped that I wanted to highlight the joinery detail and keep it light. At the time, I had ripped up my carpet and painted the floors white for the summer, so it looked sharp against the white. However, once the new floors were installed, I hated the two colors together... so it was re-homed to a nice couple putting it in their nursery!
