One of the tricks I have to get my mother to part with items, is to take them for my own home.... this dining table was in dire need of a makeover, having sat in a basement for years getting damaged. Having just sold my other dining table, I was in need of a temporary solution, and this was it. By making it two tones, and highlighting the fluting and details, I modernized it so that it can be enjoyed in a different setting. After all that I sent it back to my Mom's coastal home where she continues to enjoy this updated family heirloom.
